Toasted sourdough with salted ricotta, fresh figs, honey and walnuts

This is not a recipe, rather a suggestion.

Cut yourself a slice of good, crusty sourdough bread (Poilane is a goodun’). Pop it in the toaster. Top with ricotta cheese, a pinch of sea salt, sliced fresh, jammy figs, a drizzle of good quality organic honey and some chopped up walnuts.

The bread and salted ricotta can act as your base for a world of other toppings. Some other nice combos are:

  • blackberries/ blueberries with maple syrup and almonds
  • banana slices with date syrup andย pecans
  • strawberries, honey and cashews
  • pear, honey and walnuts

To be honest, if your fruit is sweet and ripe you can’t really go wrong. You just want a nice balance of sweet and salty.
